How can I apply for the program?
If you wish to apply for the program using Immigroup’s services, we will take care of all the steps for you, including fee payments. All you need to do is contact our office and speak with a representative about how to set up an account.
If you wish to apply for the program on your own, you will need to follow these steps:

  1. Obtain an application package, which includes a guide and the forms you will need to submit.
  2. Read the application guide carefully, and fill out the forms. The forms will ask you to describe your work and educational history in Canada.
  3. Pay your application fees. The fee you pay will vary if you are applying with any dependants and must be paid up front. You will also require a medical examination, a police certificate and if applicable, language testing, all of which may require third-party fees.
  4. Mail your application to the appropriate Canadian office, which is located in Buffalo, New York. The mailing address is included in your application guide.

After you apply
Once Citizenship and Immigration Canada has made a decision on your application, you will be sent a letter informing you of what you need to do next. If you are accepted to the program, you will be asked to attend an interview with an immigration officer. At the interview, the officer will ask to see your passport and ensure you still meet the requirements for permanent residence in Canada. You should note that if you provide false or incomplete information, your application will be denied.

If the officer does not find any problems with your application, you will be granted permanent resident status in Canada. Your permanent resident card will be sent to you in the mail.
